GEF/World Bank Regional climate, water and agriculture: Impacts on and adaptation of agro-ecological systems in Africa. "Training workshop on quality control for country level and regional analyses and reporting." November 10-13 in Cairo, Egypt.
This workshop is funded by the Trust Fund for Environmentally and Socially Sustainable Development (TFESSD) and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, Office of the Global Programs (NOAA-OGP) with complimentary sponsorship from the GEF, CEEPA, the Agricultural and Rural Development Department and the Africa Region of the World Bank, the World Bank Institute, and the FAO.
The workshop is the second of three workshops which forms part of the project activities aimed at ensuring consistency in approach and quality control necessary to provide a regional assessment of the vulnerability of African agriculture to climate change, and adaptation options, and to strengthen the local capacity to address these issues
This workshop will follow the completion of in-country field survey and data collection, and will seek to promote consistent quality of country analysis and reporting, and correct possible methodological problems. Participants are mainly from country teams undertaking the study in the eleven countries, and International experts in the field of climate change, agriculture and adaptations strategies from the World Bank, IWMI, FAO and other international institutions.
